中國石油大學（華東）圖書館始建于1953年，當時是北京石油學院圖書館，在清華大學石油工程系圖書資料室的基礎上建立。遷校山東后，先后于1980年、1997年兩次在東營建館，2004年在青島建成本館。截至2018年底，館藏紙質圖書307.4萬冊，數字圖書738萬種，其中電子書185萬種，同比增長12.1%，學位論文828萬種，同比增長44.5%，數字資源總量達75T。
本館建有3個書庫和5個閱覽室，閱覽區、研讀區、休讀區擁有座位資源3880余個，實行以讀者為中心的藏、借、閱、咨詢一體化的服務模式。本館為讀者提供書刊借閱、資源查詢、科技項目查新、館際互借與文獻傳遞、用戶培訓、電子閱覽等服務，是學校教學科研最重要的公共服務體系之一。
中國石油大學（華東）圖書館將進一步加強資源建設，強化優質服務，強化閱讀環境、人文環境和學術環境建設，把圖書館建成“成長成才成功的搖籃，學生學者學術的家園”。
China University of Petroleum Library
China University of Petroleum Library was established in 1953. It was the library of Beijing Petroleum Institute at that time, which was founded on the basis of the reference room of the Petroleum Engineering Department of Tsinghua University. After the school's relocation to Shandong Province, the library was rebuilt twice in 1980 &1997 respectively in Dongying. The library on Qingdao Campus built in 2004. The library has a collection of 2.92 million volumes of printed books, over 1391 kinds of domestic & foreign printed periodicals,6.77 million types of E-books & 36thousand types of E-journals in the library. It also contains 119 databases, the E-resources has reached to 7TB up to 2016.
This Library contains 3 book stacks & 5 reading rooms. There are over 3,880 seats in the reading, studying & leisure- reading sections. Its service mode, combining collection, borrowing, reading, & consulting together, is centered on the readers.
As one of the most important teaching & research public service systems of the university, the library provides readers with various services of book borrowing, data inquiry, science & technology item inquiry, inter-lending, document delivery, user training, & electronic reading, etc.
China University of Petroleum Library will further strengthen the resources construction, improve services, & build excellent reading, humanistic & academic environment so as to become “a cradle of growth & success, & an academic resort for learners & scholars”.
