距離最后的考試只有近兩個月的時間，最后的沖刺序幕正式拉開。英語復習到這個階段，最重要的就是作文。要想在最后的考試成績中脫穎而出，現階段就必須要把精力放在分值占在30分的寫作上。
考研英語中大作文的要求是內容切題、表達清楚、文字連貫、句式多變和語言規范。小作文考察點在信息點的覆蓋、語言的準確性、文章組織的連貫性上。
其中小作文占10分，分為求職信、祝賀信、道歉信、詢問信、推薦信、感謝信、邀請信、辭職信等等二十多種應用文。每個類別都有相對固定的語言模式，都有固定詞語要求。
申請信主要用于申請獎學金、求學、申請出國簽證等，這些申請往往通過申請信來請求。
寫作“三步走”：
申請的具體內容和緣由→自己的情況和條件→提出要求，如回信、面試等等。
注意：第一，語氣要誠摯友好千萬不要表現出強求的意思；
第二，對于申請的內容和原因一定要寫得非常清楚；
第三，盡管不能表現出強求的意思，但是期望得到的心情一定要表達出來。
